For The Love of Horses

Giving back to the sport and community we love is a big reason why we have grown Witches Brew beyond our family and friends. We sponsor riders across the country. Our goal is to assist these riders to get to the 2024 Olympics and beat those pesky Germans.

We’re always on the lookout for riders of all ages to support. Get in touch if you know someone who could do with some help from from Witches Brew.

 Jess Land

Jess is a 26 yr old full-time horse rider and seller based in Rangiora, CHCH. She has competed up to FEI 1*(1.40m) in Show Jumping and can be found out competing most weekends over the summer.

Jess spends the rest of her time producing and selling horses (both of her own and on behalf), and on average sells over 125 horses per year.

She is looking forward to producing some of her young horses further up the grades in Show Jumping, continuing to sell on behalf, and getting her new business off the ground over the next couple of years.

Jess loves being part of the Witches Brew team, where not only is it a quality product that leaves the horses hooves revitalised and healthy on a daily basis, it also gives them that show ring finish for even the most important classes!

Georgia Allison

I started my riding career before I could walk, growing up surrounded by horses of all shapes and sizes on a small farm in North Canterbury. Throughout the years I’ve competed in most disciplines, including Dressage to Level 3, Eventing to 1*, Showjumping to YR/PGP level, showhunter, showing and a bit of everything else thrown in too! I’ve been lucky enough to have some pretty special horses and ponies along the way that have helped shape my riding career into what it is today.

After selling up to travel the world in 2019, COVID-19 hit and shattered my working plans. This included the Olympics, Badminton and Pau, alongside William and Pippa Funnel. Having to rebuild my team over the last few years has been a challenge, but I have a super 5yr and a paddock full of up and coming superstars from foals through to 3yrs.

My relationship with Witches Brew stems back to before I was even born through Granny Annie and my family. It was inevitable we’d end up crossing paths at some stage, and I was beyond excited to accept a sponsorship opportunity when it arose. My horse's feet have never looked better than they currently do with a daily dose of Witches Brew.

Lydia (Lydz) Cleghorn

Lydia has just turned 14 and is based in St Andrew’s, a small town  just south of Timaru.

She goes to Timaru Girls High School and is in Year 10.

Being small in stature she has been riding her show pony Goldridge Prospero (Max) for the past 3 seasons. She started him herself with her sister and won numerous champions while on board.

After handing Max over to a younger rider this season for experience, Lydia keeps herself busy starting ponies and taking the odd catch ride.

As she is so petite, she would like to start schooling and fitness work on the smaller ponies

Currently she has 4 ponies in work, 3 of them have not been long under saddle, all started by Lydia.

She loves Witches Brew (both the Witches and the Brew 😉) and has been running her ponies successfully on the Hoof Oil for over 2 years now.

Our entire family use it and would never endorse something we truly didn't believe in - the saying ‘No foot, no horse’ rings very true.
